    Yorkshire Dales tour

Thinking of taking a weeks riding in the Dales in May, I know of some routes but any info on roads to ride or avoid would be most welcome.

N Yorks police have just taken delivery of I believe, six new vans with speed camera capability. They are smaller than the usual transit vans, so be alert. Go steady on A65 skipton up to M6, all roads around Ingleton, Hawes, Leyburn and Richmond, well known for 'safety cameras '. However, NYPD are good enough to put where the cameras are going to be on their website https://northyorkshire.police.uk/new...ns-take-roads/
apart from that, enjoy that area as the roads are great, try to get to the Tan Hill Inn, Nice ride and good food.

Try the A59 out of Skipton, B6265 up to Grassington and on to Pateley bridge then the Low Wath rd to Lofthouse taking the sign to Masham. Nice ride.

You could keep going then up to leyburn and on to Hawes wheres you'll find a nice bikers cafe.

If you wanted to make a day of it Tone's suggestion of Tan Hill is not far from here.

    Thanks for the replies.

What about the road from Dent through Deep dale Thornton Lane towards Ingleton, also is Littondale worth a visit?

The Queens Arms at Litton is a cracking little pub, did nice food and reasonable rooms.
The road to it is single track and very twisty, but the pub is worth it.

Thanks for all the replies, one last question before we leave tomorrow, has anyone done the Stainforth to Halton Gill road, and also Stainforth to Malham via the Tarn?

You'll be alright on those sort of roads up there, especially during the week while its quieter, weekend around the Tarn can be busy. Just take your time and enjoy it .
