A rigid with an unsprung seat and that distance - just thinking about it hurts my back....

It's more common than you - and the author of that article in the link - might think, Paul.

The whole Sinners/back-to-basics pre-Evo movement of ex-skateboarding punk rock dudes in their 20s/30s that has sprung up worldwide in the last ten years - typified by metalflake, American football helmets, kickstarters only, hipster beards and denim cut-offs - prides itself on going the distance in discomfort.

There's a crew of them here in Melbourne called the Ruiners who hear no evo, see no evo, speak no evo ... a dozen or more of them all flew their bikes to Europe last year and went to every chopper show from Sweden to Slovenia to Spain over the course of 3-4 months. Did tens of thousands of kilometres......shit got fixed at the roadside.

Google "the wrong way round on a chopper" to see Doug go round the world on a ridged Panhead chop complete with springers and jockey shift.
