What a fantastic send off and last ride for our old mate Rainbow Yesterday.
I arrived at The haven at 1.45 and even that early the cafe car park already had plenty of bikes and people in it and they just kept on and on arriving! I don't think I have ever been to a funeral that had so many people from such a range of clubs on such an assortment of bikes turn up to which spoke volumes to the respect and love that everyone held for Rainbow. Soon space was at a premium whilst we waited for the arrival of the motorcycle hearse.
Finally engines fired up as we set off to follow the hearse to Salisbury crematorium making a very long procession of bikes, but luckily with some excellent road blocking we kept together to arrive to a large crowd of people who had gone straight there. As we filed in due to numbers some of us were ushered into a side room whilst others stayed outside due to the lack of room .A moving and interesting service followed with plenty of personal memories from family and friends even down to his hidden "darkside" of an interest in trains and where his nickname of Rainbow came from.

Finally service over we exited to the sounds of "have a drink on me" by AC/DC which was certainly the case later on at the pub.

It did become slightly comical as all the bikes left the church with lots of people not sure where they were going ,so you had people going down the road ,back round the roundabout(some more than once) and back down the way they came .Keeping to tradition or call it a tribute the 29 or so New forest Region 19 who had turned up did a starburst.........I think Rainbow would have appreciated that. By hook or by crook we all found the pub eventually which was heaving .With plenty of barrels of beer on tap we raised our glasses once or twice and looked at some lovely old photos of Rainbow over the years that were scattered around the pub.
Despite the cold some hardy soles had even taken up the offer of camping and had pitched tents up.

Thanks to all of you who turned up to pay their respects and to the family and friends who allowed us all to join in,i think it was a job well done!
