    2000 Dyna FXD bearings

    Hi all,
My first post here since joining in 2010, but also the first time I have had to change the Bearings.

Looking to replace the rear wheel bearings and steering bearings.
Can anyone recommend a brand or should I stick to the HD oem parts?

    Thanks
    Paul

All of mine that have been replaced are either Timken or SKF. O/E ones were stamped 'Mexico' from memory.

    Thanks for that.
Have sourced Timken for the steering head, but still looking for the wheel bearings.

    Hi Paul,
If you type in "wheel bearings" in the forum search engine you will see plenty of previous banter on the subject. A lot of fake copy crap on e-bay, so buy from a trusted source / dealer. If its really cheap, thats a clue - changing bearings is a pain in the arse, doing it twice over a short period even more so! A lot of members recommend SKF - but just make sure its genuine.
    Regards

I have 4 top notch INA bearings I bought from Custom Chrome for my 2000 Fatboy that I havent used. My current bike has ABS and the bearings are different so they are for sale. The CC number is 653808 equivalent to OEM 9267, current CC price £52.43 ea. - you can have them for £25 ea + postage.

    PM me if interested

Have you considered calling a parts supplier like Fatboyzdiner, Grizzlys (in Kent), HOGparts or your local HD dealer? Any of them can order the relevant part and post it to you.
