Started to read the item but clicked off when the site was trying to make me fill out questions that would certainly flood me with e-mail offers. Never read what they actually do...

The group - Notts Stolen Motorcycle Hunters and Recoverers - was formed just under a year ago.
It has nearly 1,000 members, also known as 'spotters', who upload pictures of stolen bikes onto their closed Facebook group.
If the bike is spotted and is parked up, a crew will attend the scene and surround the bike until the police arrive.
Some of the team will follow a bike - video recording the pursuit - which may lead them to the suspects' address or hiding place.

Mrs Asher said: "We will stay with the bike until the police turn up, which has happened on more than one occasion.
"One bike was stolen by a plasterer - he was out on a job. He hid in the back room before the police arrived. They either keep out of the way or run."
She said there are three types of motorcycle thieves - young people stealing the bike for fun, opportunists, and gangs who might sell the bikes internationally.
One bike was even recovered by the group before it left the port in Dover.
She said: "We do this for nothing. We are getting on to nearly 100 bikes that we have reunited with their owners.
"When they are involved in bike theft, they are usually involved in multiple thefts and wanted for more than one thing.
"It is heartbreaking to see young kids involved. Sometimes they sell them on Instagram - it's a £6,000 bike going for £200. It breaks your heart."

A common mistake made when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

A punk-rock era classic....although they were not a punk band.

OP: Interesting story. I was working on that particular newspaper when I joined this club in 1992.

They were brilliant live. Saw them at Dingwalls in their prime before the henry kicked in (not me, him) and Perrett disappeared. He made it through and came back in 2017. Same clever lyrics with a contemporary view.

Incidentally, just up the road from Dingwalls used to be the stolen bike pound. Long gone, along with a lot of central police facilities. It's progress mate.

Nottingham has some high spots and plenty of heritage, but big problems with crime. I'm not surprised they have taken action.
