Polishing out scratches on a screen - Christ, it works!

I got hold of a Windvest screen for a reasonable price on Ebay, due to marks and scratches on the screen. I knew they would be too prominent to ignore but I wondered if I could polish them out, having watched a couple of instructional videos on Youtube. When the screen arrived I realised it wasn't going to fit without some modifications (more on that later....) but I had a crack at removing the marks. I was absolutely amazed that it worked at all, incredible how well it worked! Using wet n' dry, 600, 1200, and 1500 and a polish with Autosol, and a bit with Brasso, it's made it quite usable again in just over an hour. I'll go back to work out every blemish at some point, but they're not easily visible, and then I'll wax it or something.

However, the round clamps for the oval risers are way too small anyway. A solution would be to get clamps rotated through 90* that fit to my 1-1/4" bars but they're not easily available and are pretty costly if you can get them from the states. A long shot, I know, but if anyone has any such clamps for sale, or any advice, I'd appreciate a line, thanks.

I've not yet taken it on the open road but up to around 40mph, wearing a pudding basin, in slightly pissy weather, it's doing the trick..... Dazbo has one on his Fat Bob and swears by it.
    Standby, I'll have more.....

I took it up to 80mph today - I can't praise it highly enough. I was truly amazed how good it is. No buffeting, diecting air over the top of my helmet. No effect on handling either.
