Fatboy FLSTF ‘2000 (1450cc)- Whining noise from Primary housing.?

Hi hope someone can point me in the right direction from your knowledge or previous experience.
went on a ride out yesterday and after an hour or so it started whining from the primary when coasting or slowing down.. didn’t and doesn’t do it when accelerating. Doesn’t do it when bike is stood still and running... got worse throughout the ride. No change in power or gear changing either.!
    Any help would be appreciated
    thanks, Paul

Check your pulleys are not about to disintegrate.

Remove the primary inspection cover and check your primary chain tensioner for wear. If whining, it could have gone through the slider and now be sliding on metal.

If worse on the overrun in 4th it’s likely to be the inner primary bearing as seems to be a common issue.

I haven't enough experience but first thing I would check is the primary chain adjustment.
