Surveys??!! - Have to wonder why the Honda dealers are so happy, or are they afraid to speak the truth? When I worked for a Kawasaki dealer the factory rep was a bit like an inspector. The parts bloke used to hide all his porno mags, tidy up the shop and acknowledge the presence of customers.

I don't spend any money in Harley emporiums, but I like going to them, sitting on the bikes and drinking free coffee. I could buy a new one, but it takes me years to decide which one + I don't have any more space and rather like the 1690 twin cam motor.

One thing's for sure - Harley's are still unique and they've done very well to survive, set new trends (lifestyle?) and keep the air cooled V motor alive.
    Time out of mind

Nice to see that its not just their customers that the Moco don't listen to it is now also their dealers, somewhat worrying or arrogant.

    .... 5 millionuth.....

"To me Harleys have the image of loud noise, tattoos, long hair and biker gangs," admits Steve Coward, who answered MCN’s call for someone who had never ridden a Harley before to give one a shot. "As a clean-cut teacher, that never really appealed."

quick! what are the chances that Stevie will overlook all that plastic and electronics and be possessed by The Divine Shovelhead Spirits?

Yup, that dealer is like another type of dealer that gives you the first one free.....another career in teaching doomed!

    Re: Harley Davidson News.

I sort of get where he is coming from, when I was at School desperate to knock around with bikers I noticed the only 2 Harleys in Carlisle well I say noticed because back then around about 1978 the 2 Harleys in question spent more time in the workshop than on the road so it didn't do the brand much good oop North. moving on to 2003 I had rode and owned loads of crotch rockets and some of the new Triumphs but I always laughed when someone suggested owning a Harley anyway I decided I would pay a clandestine visit to a dealership over at Newcastle so I blasted my fairly new Speed Twipple over via Alston and its twisties ( its near Penrith ) to the dealership and I eventually cocked my leg over a few various models I took up the chance of a few test rides and I returned with a massive grin I thought oh shit the bloody Harley bug has bit me and it had I walked out of there about 11k lighter now owning a Anniversary Fat Boy which I though Mmm I know I will return via the Alston twisties oh dear bad move coz my Speed twipple loved twisties but this land barge thought lets not go bend swinging lets go bend smashing I thought oh blood hell this don't handle like my Triumph it handled more like my three piece suite couch but over the years I owned a few models and I now love my M8 street Glide yes Alex I love the motor faults and all and would I change to another brand well not really but I do sort of like the Indian Tourers but I would stay loyal to American motorcycles some may ask why well to me it still feels like a motorcycle and still sounds like a motorcycle and of course I can remain a member of this great club of ours
