I can't see how this can work effectively, someone passing a noise detector who legitimately beeps their horn could easily breach the db level. A group of bikers passing with one with an excessively noisy exhaust - how do they distinguish? It's too easy to for mistakes to occur, especially in built up areas. All it would take is someone with a hand held air horn to blast under the camera / detector every time a car passes to breach the db level. What about traffic coming the otherway, it's noise will also be picked up surely? Also, where's the money to fund, most of the speed cameras down my way are no-longer in operation because of lack of funds, they don't have the money to keep our roads safe from pot holes - but hey let's target those with a noisy engine / exhaust - world's gone mad!

Park the noisy vehicle close to the camera but out of it's line of vision, wait for a line of cars to pass then rev the cajones off it to let them all receive notices! Simples.

What about noisy wagons, maybe totally legal but noisy as fcuk!

Yes, I said the same earlier, how will it differentiate between vehicles in heavy traffic.

I like the idea of someone sitting in chair under one with an air horn blasting when pedal bikes, learners, buses etc go through....is that lawful protesting?
