    Compensator question

    Hi
I have started to put my bike back together. I fitted Clutch and Compensator sprocket and tightened them up. I tightened the compensator nut to the correct torque
when i turn the sprocket it seems a little loose, i re tigthten and do the same again, i cann still tighten a little more. I removed the compesator to check if everything
lined up. Am i missing something, would it be ok to spin it up for a few seconds with no primary oil in it to see if anything is amiss before i fit the priamary cover.
    Cheers Ade

Yes no problem - I've run a few with the cover off. You'll probably get some oil mess on anything close by though ...

    Re: Compensator question

Most likely you are at the right torque on the nut but the springs will be weak on the compensator. I believe that your bike is the same year as mine.
    See recent post:-

I have some left over springs if needed.

    Re: Compensator question

Thanks for the replies. As this was probably like this before i took it apart would it still be ok to run for a month or so till i can afford an upgrade.
