    change in engine tone

OK I've bought my first HD, a 2016 FLHTK and its a real nice ride

one thing i noticed is that at 3000rpm there is a distinct change in tone of the engine which i assume is it reaching the powerband but having nothing to compare it to Im wondering if this is normal ?

The big clunk going into first gear is somethong Ill just have to learn to ignore because as an engineer it makes me cringe everytime lol

Can I use a bicycle pump for forks to adjust the shocks pressure ? Id rather not pay £50

    cheers

If its on stock header pipes, that will be the exhaust valve opening, hence change in tone.

As for the clunk, fit a haydens primary tensioner.
    Cured mine.

Dont have air shocks on mine, but on other bikes ive used a cycle pump without issues.

    Yep.

Four stroke engines don't really have a power band like two strokes do ...

Or fit a Southern Oregon Hot bikes HB-125. This is Hydraulic using oil in the primary to pump it up rather the Springs as in the Hayden.
Cured my clunk into first gear and makes finding neutral a lot easier.
