About that time we also had Warren Cann, the drummer from Ultravox but the one who got most involved with us was Simon Kirke of Bad Company...several of us in the beer tent at the 1978 Super Rally Cologne (Koln) had to pull him down from standing on the table with his comb under his nose just about to do a certain salute!

One of my favourite drummers. Especially with Free. The live version of MR Big is favoured by my memory.

more rock 'n' roll bands. The Hillbillies, and Rockin'Em (with a dep. drummer).

mid week bands Dover R+R Club

again, I've been told most of these bands will go anywhere for the right fee.

    Re: Rock n Roll bands

Going back to Simon Kirke, in 1976 the band had toured across America east to west and when the others flew home Simon bought a Liberty Edition Electra Glide and rode it back east. He wrote up the trip in instalments for me to put in the 'Quin under the title "Flight of the Black Eagle". I think he brought it back here, don't know what happened to it - wonder if it is still around?

Paul, am I right in thinking that Jean-Jacques Burnel, bass player with The Stranglers, was also either a club member or in some way associated?
