Re: Just picked up my new Road King

I love the bike Dave i really do and if i move her on i know i will regret it but next year i will be spending a fair bit of time back down in Devon and Cornwall and to assist me with this i'm turning a VW into a camper van so my time 2 up touring will be limited for next year so having a bike like this CVO sitting doing nothing aint right, ive had a few offers of a Ultra limited and cash or just a cash deal and if the right deal comes along i will let her go. anyway if a new owner takes place they wont regret it especially after the work that has taken place which really makes this CVO move

How do Darren had a fgood crack with the guys on wednesday they have a 09 CVO springer which i had purchased back in 09 i think they wanted me to take it in part ex but if you look at the paint its got the old rust worm in it because on certain areas of the paint work it was raw steel just sealed over and to repair that will set folk back over 2k. i will see what they will give me as a cash buy

I’ve just joined here as looking to buy a new RKS.

    Which backrest is that ?

I would also need a Tall Boy seat but would want a back rest in gloss black to match the Road King Special look and I see that you can’t use an adjustable back rest with a Tall Boy, yet the only gloss black back rest seems to be this one :

Thanks, these are the parts I had fitted

Looking they do the equivalent sissy bar in black

    And docking kit in black

    Thanks for the reply.

I edited my post to you as I realise I had been a numpty and it’s only a RIDER backrest that won’t fit with Tall Boy seat, not pillion !!!

Yep that's right, although it's only the adjustable rider backrests that won't fit, the 'standard' rider backrest still fits apparently.

One other thing to note, which is annoying for me, is that the grab rails won't fit with the tallboy seat :(
