Re: Time for a winter update

Next on the list was the clunking suspension. I bought a set of narrow suspension units from Ebay for £46.00. I had to strip these down to check them over and I'm glad I did as 1 had 100ml of oil in it and the other 1 only had 75ml.

Then I had to grind the tie bar that goes across the frame rails at the back of the frame. I couldn't see that the bottom of the swinging was hitting the rail but it was a case of being safe rather than being sorry. You can see at the bottom of this pic where I ground it off at 45 degrees.

The next thing to do was to raise the handlebars up by 1". They were always a bit close to the tank and I managed to chip the tank when at full right hand lock !

I had these spacers made up. The bolts are tapped at the bottom to take an M4 allen bolt which will hold the stainless steel cover plate which goes on the underside of the top yoke.

I’m not quite sure what’s happening but if I look at this thread on my iPad or iPhone, any pics I’ve posted just show up as a square but if I look at the page on my laptop I can see the pics. Is there some setting I don’t know about. It would be good to see if it’s the same for others.
