    Wink Planned Yorkshire Trip

Could I please enlist your help in planning our week around the Yorkshire Moors.

When we came to the International Rally a few years back, we missed the ride to Whitby due to bad weather, so thought we would have a week exploring.

Riding up from Kent and we intend to stay in York for two nights, then a night in Malton, 2 nights in Whitby, although all flexible at this stage. Planning to visit Rievaulx Abbey and maybe Castle Howard.

Can you kindly suggest any nice routes we can explore.

    Appreciate any suggestions.

    Many thanks

    When are you coming Alan?

I'm sure we can come up with some great routes? Glenn the R5 Rep is a Whitby Lad, so knows that area well.

You could do worse than leave York - Harrogate - Skipton - Grassington - Ingleton - Hawes - Aysgarth - Reeth.

Some ace roads up that way ......

Then have a night at The Buck in Reeth, (we had our Christmas do there).

    Then over to Whitby.

    Re: Planned Yorkshire Trip

    Hi Allan
Ive been in touch with forestry commission as they own Dalby forrest. Dalby is a beautiful drive/ride and its a toll of £9 for cars but free for bikes.Leaving Malton take the road for Pickering, straight across the roundabout heading for Whitby. Continue for about 3c miles and turn right for Thorten le dale. About 3 miles down that road turn. left for Dalby forrest drive (Brown sign post) the ride through there takes in visitor centre with loo's and cafe. you end up at hackness. take the coast rode to Whitby A171. A nice ride and you can drop down into Robin Hoods Bay befoe arriving in Whitby.
Regarding accommodation in Whitby are you sorted ? if not give me a shout. Other nice places to visit while in our area are. Runswick Bay. Goathland, etc.
If I can help in any way please get in touch.Ive got another route for you if required .
    Regards Glenn

    Re: Planned Yorkshire Trip

    Hello Glenn, Paul & Andy

Really appreciate all the replies, really helpful. I am just plotting the route you gave me Glenn. I think we are all sorted now. I have booked Raithwaite Estate in Whitby, which looks nice. Looking forward to our trip. As we are based in Kent, we normally head across the Channel to France.
So looking forward to something different. Thank you all again for your help.
