    Luggage Rack

    Looking for advice on a rack for my 2009 XL883L want to carry camping gear but all racks I've found are weight limited to 10lb. Any suggestions on what I can fit?

    The genuine HD rack I had on my Sporty had a warning label on it as Max 5kg. It's made of solid steel and has taken way more than this, noting it's for the USA market where they have to protect themselves from law suits.

    Toured for thousands of miles 2-up with this lot on a standard harley rack without any issues;

    Need a flush fitting fuel cap kit before fitting a tank bag though, just so it sits properly

    Every HD rack on a bike that rallies or tours is overloaded, it's just an arse covering sticker for the MoCo.

    I use a sissy bar and a rack. This helps spread the load. Photo above looks similar.

    I have a H-D sissy bar mounted rack on my FXR,with a sticker that says max load 5kgs.I usually carry a 7kg tent,plus a few other things on it with no problems.

    yup, m8 use's a sissy bar no rack and load it all up on the rear seat and behind, tied to the bar and takes everything for a weeks camping and cooking np's . Sissy holds it in place rear seat takes the weight plus a back rest as a bonus.
    Ofc thats a solo set up
    I do the same but have a 10lbs rack as well which is mercilessly overloaded with no ill affects (yet) Possibly relates to 10lbs plus passenger? for the sub frame load? and im solo. but whatever.
