Can't pretend to be as up on all this as you guys, but here goes:
I run an Akai AM-47 amp (200W, I seen to recall) through Jarmo speakers.
Into that I have a Numark professional USB turntable, with an Ortofon Pro S stylus and a Technics SL-PG340A CD player.
I do also have another (better?) turntable but it's been in a box upstairs so long I can't even remember what it is!

I can list my large Hi Fi but cannot remember all the model numbers.
    Pioneer 70 watt Amp
    Pioneer Tuner
    Sansui 16 band Graphic Equaliser
    Pioneer 320 Cassette Deck
    Pioneer PL 520 Record Deck c/w Ortofon 30 Cartridge/Shure M75 Cartridge
    Sony Mini Disc Player
    Sony CD Player
Philips Reel to Reel Tape Machine
    Kenwood 3 Way 100watt Speakers(12",4",2")
Add to this several Sony and JVC Mini Hi Fis dotted around the house.

Music is a very wide selection from classical to heavy rock and all in between.

Re: Hi Fi - What you got?

I always had decent hi fi systems all the way up to having kids which soon ended any free time. I remember when I bought my first house the hi fi was in place before anything to sit on ha ha! The last set up I had was a Linn Sondek turntable, Musical Fidelity XA-1 amp and a pair of Monitor Audio floorstanding speakers. Now that I pretty much live in the workshop, I have a Fatman Itube valve amp in there with a little Bluetooth gadget plugged into it and a pair of Wharfedale bookshelf speakers. It's either Planet Rock all day or my music collection, both of which come from my phone and I'm surprised at how good it sounds ..

I’m afraid I am a philistine these days. All of my music is stored up in the sky and I stream it all around the house via a network of Sonos wifi and Bluetooth speakers.

Same in the workshop with a Bluetooth radio and speaker.

Invested quite heavily in the television and watching a few gigs via streaming services onto the tv which has a great sound and picture quality.

It's interesting how much vintage hifi is included in the list. With lots of classics like Linn Sondek, Quad, Pink Triangle, MTC to name just a few.

The quality and longevity of these items is widely recognised and many audiophiles regard them along with early Japanese hifi as being much better quality than the compressed digital offerings that are considered to be strangulated in comparison.

Nevertheless, embracing modern technology to enhance our choice and expand connectivity is also put to use.

I guess in some ways this parallels the approach to Harleys - anywhere from kick start to pressing a button! All Harleys, just different stages of evolution.
