Re: what have you done to your bike today?

I've never been comfortable reaching round the Arlen Ness air filter to reach the brake. It became even more aggravating after twisting my knee during a 5 minute DIY job that went pear-shaped, so I've swapped it for Performance Machine's slimmer Max HP unit. The result is not only an easier ride but, IMO, a tidier look too.Name: IMG_20190415_125159.jpg

Re: what have you done to your bike today?

After five months, since I last rode, worrying whether (at best) I'd have to give up the Heritage due to my spine op and torn shoulder ligaments, or downgrade to some lesser make (or even a Sportster!), I'm glad to report that I've been for a 27 mile ride today, and everything in those two departments is now alright enough to keep the Harley.
    Yippee!!!
I'm pretty sure that everyone who is a member of this club will understand how happy that has made me today - now I just have to get bike fit for the longer rides when I go to Germany in June/July.
I was so happy that I washed the Heritage and both cars!
    It's great to be back!

After giving my FXSTC her 35,000 mile service a couple of weeks ago.

I had my first ride of the year; a nice ride to Llangollen and back, just over 167 miles.

    She never missed a beat.

Cleaned out the cone and fitted new ignition wire, spark plug cables, points, advance mechanism etc. Corbin seat I had in the loft, loctited various nuts and bolts. Hope to get a test run today before Wales next week.

Quality looks pretty good. Some of the aftermarket stuff is rubbish. Do you grease the cam surface?

i tiny bit of grease the condenser is around £14 ,, but i now have a source for top quality condensers made to original spec

if you tap up ,,the distributer doctor he has them made for him ,, but i have no problem with the bright sparks one at the moment

Re: what have you done to your bike today?

Well after realising it is easter sunday (or in Sussex, eater sunday ) me n the missus headed out for a ride to try out the pillion as a pre longer ride check out, all the usual places were closed and the roads were clear! . 30 miles up the road she wasnt a happy bunny. So with kelso on the cards i will change out to a Corbin seat i have for her to try out this coming friday (shes working til then) and if that fails i have a 97 fatboy seat that i normally just use solo locally - not enough back support for me. If neither of the other sets work she is threatening to go in the car. Apart from that a nice ride with scorchio weather, beer in local boozer and my "tap" timer cover was hanging off, so loctite in the AM. Oh - and ive topped me tan up
